On the auspicious day of Dhanteras, 6th National Ayurveda Day theme "Ayurveda for Poshan" was celebrated by the SMIAS, Kolavada under the guidance of Respected Director of AYUSH, Vd. Shri Jayesh Parmar. Honourable Cabinet Minister , Health & Family Welfare Department, Gujarat, Shri Rushikesh Patel; Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Gujarat Shri Manoj Aggarwal, IAS; Deputy Secretary, Shri Vikalp Bhardwaj, IAS adorned this event with their graceful presence. On this day, various events organized were -

• Dhanwantari Pooja and Havan, 
• Food festival in which various nutritious food items (Poshanyukta Ahara) made , keeping in view the Ayurvedic concepts, were inspected by the dignitaries
• Distribution of medicinal herb , Guduchi (Giloy) by Honourable Shri Rushikesh Patel
• Plantation of various medicinal Ayurvedic plants in SMIAS campus
